Areas of Expertise
Trauma and PTSD
My primary clinical focus is trauma and PTSD. I support individuals who have experienced trauma and are looking for a safe space to process what happened, work through its impact, or better understand an experience or event that may have been traumatic.
While trauma is my area of focus, I welcome clients with a wide range of experiences and concerns. Ultimately, my goal is to support individuals who are seeking change, a better understanding of themselves, or a different way of moving forward.
Trauma can exist on a broad spectrum. You do not need to have a specific diagnosis or identify with a particular trauma history to reach out for support.
LGBTQ+
As a community member, I understand the value of working with someone you don't have to explain yourself to. I provide affirming and supportive therapy for LGBTQ+ individuals and welcome clients across the LGBTQ+ spectrum. I recognize that each person's experience of identity, relationships, family, and community is unique. Therapy can be used in many ways, and identity may become a central theme depending on your goals and experience. My goal is to provide a space where you can show up authentically as yourself and have support as you work toward the growth you are seeking. I also provide letters of support for gender affirming care for established clients.
Depression and Anxiety
I support individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, or any other challenges that are affecting their day-to-day lives. This can look different for everyone and may include feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsatisfied. Therapy can be a space to better understand what you are experiencing, develop new ways of coping, and uncover patterns or circumstances that might be contributing to how you feel. You do not need a specific diagnosis or to fully understand what is wrong to know that you need help. My goal is to help you understand yourself better and empower you with knowledge and tools to create change in your life.
My Approach
Many people seek therapy because they feel disconnected from themselves. Whether that’s the result of experiencing trauma, difficult relationships, anxiety, depression, or major life changes, it can lead to feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of who you are. My passion is helping adults reconnect with themselves, better understand their experiences, and build more fulfilling relationships. My experience in the field includes work in schools, hospitals, community mental health, and crisis intervention, all of which reinforced my belief in the healing power of connection. I strive to empower clients to build stronger connections with themselves, the people in their lives, and their experiences.
I approach therapy in a collaborative, non-judgmental, and nurturing way. I believe in each person’s inherent ability to heal while recognizing many of the systemic and societal challenges that can make that process more difficult. Together, we will explore how your life experiences, relationships, and environment are impacting your mental health. We will strive to uncover any patterns that may be keeping you stuck and explore new ways of moving forward. We can discuss anything that feels relevant to you; I don’t think there is any topic too taboo to discuss in therapy. I will provide a welcoming space where your vulnerability becomes a source of strength. My goal as a therapist is to support you in showing up as your most authentic self both in and outside of our sessions. My approach focuses on the whole person and is flexible, as I believe therapy should be tailored to each individual.
Whether you’re new to therapy or returning after time away, I welcome clients who are curious about understanding themselves better and ready to take the next steps toward meaningful change. I specialize in working with adults who have experienced trauma, particularly young adults, LGBTQ+ individuals, and individuals navigating nonmonogamy. I also support clients navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. I incorporate somatic approaches to strengthen the mind-body connection and tailor therapy to your specific needs, moving at a pace that feels safe while also gently challenging at the right times. Together, we’ll work to understand how trauma has shaped your relationships, emotions, and sense of self while creating a path toward healing and connection. If you are ready to better understand yourself and believe this approach could support you in doing so, I look forward to connecting.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time in nature, especially paddleboarding with my dog. I also love to explore new hobbies and try things outside of my comfort zone. Although I find great value in adventures and spontaneity, I balance it through my more grounded hobbies like reading, puzzles, coloring, writing, and taking care of house plants.
